RLWD compares practical LTL freight routes across Manitoulin Transport, Day & Ross and Purolator Freight for freight-eligible windows and doors. The cart recommends the lowest estimated practical route for the shipment profile, then the complete address and current carrier quote are verified before production.
Customer-arranged pickup at the Markham origin carries no RLWD freight charge. Bring a suitable vehicle, restraints, padding and enough help to load safely.
Eligible windows and doors are protected and consolidated on a skid or in a crate. Freight is charged as one flat shipment-tier rate rather than a separate parcel charge on every item.
Freight delivery is generally curbside. Residential, commercial, terminal, tailgate and RLWD final-mile services can carry different accessorial allowances.
The estimator evaluates the largest product dimensions, total quantity, estimated shipment weight, glass/product fragility, mixed-product packaging requirements and destination zone. Oversized, specialty, remote or multi-skid orders are routed to manual freight review.
Packages with a largest dimension over approximately 90 inches are flagged because liftgate service may not be available. Exact unloading requirements, carrier availability and the final freight charge are confirmed before release to production.
Priority 15 and full custom orders now use the same consolidated freight methodology. Carrier benchmark factors and accessorials are administrator-managed so RLWD can keep the estimator synchronized with negotiated account pricing and recent quote history. Manitoulin is favoured for Northern and remote Ontario when pricing is comparable; Day & Ross and Purolator Freight remain comparison options for urban, residential and national lanes.
For remote, oversized, specialty or multi-unit orders, send the complete destination and approximate product package.
